February 13, 2019 - Monthly Chapter Meeting:
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services Conservation activities in Colorado
Join us for a presentation on U.S.Fish & Wildlife Services conservation activities in Colorado by Greg Gerlich Director U.S, Fish & Wildlife. He will also talk about Colorado Cutthroat trout which was found in Bear creek near colorado springs. Activities to establish this Cutthroat in Colorado.
Greg has served as the Assistant Regional Director for the Fish and Aquatic Conservation (FAC) Program for Region 6 (Mountain Prairie) with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service since January 2016. Region 6 includes the following states: Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Montana, North and South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas. The FAC program in Region 6 consists of twelve federal fish hatcheries, 8 Fish and Wildlife Conservation Offices, Fish Habitat Partnership and Fish Passage programs and Aquatic Invasive Species coordination. Prior to working for the USFWS, Greg worked for over 21 years in the Aquatic Section of Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and was the state Fisheries Section Chief from 2005 through 2015. He received his B.S and M.S degrees from Colorado State University in Fisheries Biology and Fisheries Management respectively.

Cherry Creek Anglers is proud to present the Hartsel Easy Access River Trail. The Trail allows anglers of all physical abilities, barrier free access to the excellent fishing available on the Middle Fork, South Platte River. Through the system of graded trails, bridges and stream access points all anglers can experience a genuine fishing experience in this pristine river. The Trail is located approximately 3 miles north of the community of Hartsel, Park County CO, on County Road 439 within the Badger Basin State Wildlife Area.
