Our guest speaker will be Richard Pilatzke. Richard will be discussing terrestrials along with his most recent trip to Patagonia. It should be a great presentation!
Richard Pilatzke lives in Littleton, Colorado with his wife Cheryl and border collie mix dog Bella . He was born in Montreal, Canada and grew up in upstate New York. Richard has lived in Colorado for over 37years. He has been fly tying and fly fishing for over 40 years.
The Colorado TU River Stewardship Gala is the largest celebration of Colorado’sr rivers and world-class fishing opportunities. In 2017, nearly 400 guests helped to raise over $80,000 for Colorado TU’s conservation efforts throughout the state. Funds from the River Stewardship Gala go towards CTU’s work in youth education, protecting statewide instream flows and temperature, reintroducing and protecting native trout, and preserving and restoring the state’s fisheries and their watersheds.
You are cordially welcomed to join the monthly CCA fishing trip this month as we venture out to the fabled South Platte River, somewhere within a stone's throw of Deckers Resort, CO. Plan to meet at Flies & Lies Fly Shop, located at the corner of Hwy 67 and Decker's Road (County 126) in Deckers at 7:00 am. From there, armed with the latest intel, we'll decide which stretch to fish. Word from the fly shop is to prepare for winter fishing, looking for deep holes and trusting your strike indicators like you would your best friend. Takes will be hypnotically subtle, like the tell of a good poker player, but there are some real brutes in this stretch, well worth the extra effort and technique. Anyone wanting to go or wanting to carpool should RSVP with Rudy so we can get a head count at email@example.com.
We hope to see you there!
